sciatic pain

I recently bought your lose the back pain program. I also bought an inversion table. I have a herniated disc that is ruptured and have had two epidural steroid injections. I have two questions. 1. Is the high hip syndrome usually on the same side as your sciatic pain? 2. Why is it that the inversion table seems to woesend my sciatic pain ?

I also have lost my number to call for tech support.
thanks, ross

Re: sciatic pain

I hope an inversion table doesn't worsen sciatica... I just bought one. I went to a store to test it, thought it brought relief, so I ordered one. Are you inverting all the way or just to 30 degrees? Are you doing a full 15 minutes or starting out with only 5 minutes? I've heard you should start out slowly... gradually increase the degree and the time. Listen to your body.

Most importantly, use the LTBP recommended stretches for sciatica. Maybe you should do that for a week (or until you feel some relief) before inverting?

Based on what I've learned, use inversion if it brings relief, but stop at the first sign of discomfort. Sciatica seems like such an easily inflamed thing.

The stretches have brought me relief, at least for the first half of the day. Evenings are still a bit sore... but making progress.

After your stretches, make sure you soak in awarm bath containing two cups of epsom salts.

Lay there for alta least twnety minutes.

This will help remove some bad stuff [ lactic acid - same compound found in sour milk ] from your muscles.
