CHANGE....

Hi

I found this a long time ago, just been going through my PC cleaning up old files and stumbled across this, I used to have this pinned on my desk at work....I apologise I do not know who said this....But I think its great.....Hope you enjoy it too...

"The more things change, the more they stay the same. I’m not sure who the first person was that said that- probably Shakespeare or maybe Sting. But at the moment, it’s the sentence that best explains my tragic flaw, my inability to change. I don’t think that I’m alone in this. The more I get to know other people, the more I get to realize it’s kind of everyone’s flaw. Staying exactly the same, for as long as possible, standing perfectly still. It feels better somehow; and if you are suffering, at least the pain is familiar. Because if you took that leap of faith, went outside the box, did something unexpected, who knows what other pain might be waiting out there? Chances are, it could be even worse. So you maintain the status quo, choose the road already travelled and it doesn’t seem that bad- not as far as flaws go. You’re not a drug addict; you’re not killing anyone, except maybe yourself a little. When we finally do change, I don’t think it happens like an earthquake or an explosion where all of a sudden we’re like this different person. I think it’s smaller than that. The kind of thing that most people wouldn’t even notice unless they look really, really close, which thank god, they never do. But you notice it. Inside you that change feels like a world of difference, and you hope that it is, that this is the person you’ll get to be forever, that you’ll never have to change again."

Re: CHANGE....

Well personally I take from it this:

We all just settle for what we are, what we do, the pain we are in, almost like ground hog day, and the reason we don't want to change is because everyone else does....We are naturally sheep...Some people don't like to stand out in a crowd.

It also says to me that if we just make little changes in our daily life, then these will start to have an impact on our emotional and mental state, and as it says it may not be seen by others, but inside ourselves we feel great, we might start to smile for no apparent reason...

This is how I interpret it.....

Re: CHANGE....

Also I think it says Take a risk....There is only one way to find out if it will work or not.....Feel the fear and do it anyway....

Re: CHANGE....

I like that quote. but what if you're out of money and you've basically gone broke taking these chances...? And even if you wanted to change some more, or in a different way, you find out it'll cost you, again, and the money just ain't there...?

Seems like nobody talks about it much, but when you're in pain, there's a LOT of professionals out there just waiting to put a price on relieving you. Everything requires currency, particularly relief.

bummer. I suppose that's my number one gripe these days, in spite of trying to find other ways to increase the income. The economy rises way faster than my pay, always.

Come on winning lottery ticket!

Re: CHANGE....

I couldn't resist adding this one more little thing...

Health care in this country, and maybe some others too, costs a fortune - particularly if you're in pain. Unless there's some aid I don't know about... I've personally spent a small fortune already, and debt for health or pain relief causes some pretty great stress.

Guess what that leads to? Muscle tension! Round and round we go.

Re: CHANGE....

Angela,

While costs are out of control here thanks to our governments pathetic economic policies, the point is there is ALWAYS a way to make something happen, no matter how bad the situation may be.

You can always make more money but you can't make more time/life so do your absolute best right now, and every day :)

Jesse
