Degenerative Disc Desease

Hello everyone I am new to the programme. I have DDD with two herniated discs in my lumbar region. I have been trying to convince myself that i only have herniated discs but have finally accepted I have DDD too which scares the hell out of me. I am in pain naturally but i can control it with anti inflams and one or two high strength pain killers per day. I have been suffering for 13 months with no real help from the medics so this site and the programme are a blessing, at least i can understand how i got here! I am on my 3rd day of the programme so early days still. My question is does anyone else have DDD and have the exercises helped with pain reduction plus is there anything else i should try?

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Hi Peter

First of all, everyone has degenerative disc's and it's not a desease

The process has just been accelerated in your lumbar disc's due to poor disc nutrition because of a dysfunction you have

My s1 disc is fairly dehydrated and yes the LTBP system is great

Look into an inversion table and the natural food supplement the LTBP guys sell as a replacement for the NSAIDs

Stick at it mate

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Peter

There are three methods I know of that can help with DDD.

I know this because I have seen before and after x-rays:

1. Inversion tables

2. Disk Force Spinal Decompression

3. Pettibon System + wobble chairs

One important thing is that you must also correct some of the things that caused your disks to degenerate in the first instance:

1. Pressure on the disks

2. Inadequate water intake and nutrition

Suggest you start off with the LTBP system to help correct postural dysfunctions and muscular imbalances.

Increase your water intake and take MSM each day.

Go about one third of the way through this video and stop at the point where you see my x-ray on the computer screen.

Look how bad the very bottom disk is.

That was before any treatment.

Drop me an e-mail and I’ll send you the after x-ray.

Good Luck

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Dave

How come you like MSM over HCL glucosamine and chondroitin ?

Wouldn't all three be the best ?

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Hi Paul

You can take all three, but the key for DDD is the MSM.

Inside the nucleus [ center ] of the disk, there are chemical compounds known as "proteoglycans".

These act like little sponges and absorb water in much greater volumes than their own size.

MSM has been found to help with this absorption process.

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Hi Dave

Thanks mate

I read chondroitin also attracts fluid into the proteoglycan molecules, probably not as much as MSM though from your saying, I've been using super flex 3, might add some more sperate MSM though

End of the day it's just a food supplement and there limits with what it can you

Re: Degenerative Disc Desease

Hi Paul

Yes, all of these supplements have to used with a "pumping" method to get the fluid into the disks.

On their own, they don't have too much effect.
