Less Is More Horsemanship Forum
Welcome to the Less Is More Forum. This forum is to post questions, comments, suggestions, ideas, principles, concepts and ideas regarding Natural Horsemanship and more importantly, the philosophy of "Less IS More". This is a place where like-minded people can come to throw away all the old traditional ways of training, and riding, and begin to experience a new FREEDOM in their relationship with their equine partners. Whether your goal is to learn more about natural horsemanship, get support for your own personal Less Is More belief, find solutions for problems that are hindering your relationship, begin a journey of discovery or healing, this is your home. Regardless of what the current "fads" are in traditional circles or natural horsemanship circles, I encourage you to think 'outside the box'. Feel free to post a message.

Summer Clinic?

I just wanted to see if you're interested in putting on a clinic sometime around July down in Bloomington. I've found an arena that we can use (no one I know here in Indy has one) down there. I've already got at least 2 other people who want to do it and could probably round up about as many people as you'd let participate.

One question I have is about your tolerance for stallions in your clinic. I just got my colt and I'd love to be able to do the clinic with him. He's just turning 3. I ought to be able to get him backed this summer and plan to introduce cues and whatnot at a walk, but won't be doing any particularly serious riding until at least next summer when he's physically ready for it since I do want to have him sound when he's, say 30 :)

Also, my friend's mare that she would bring to the clinic is almost totally blind (she can see light through a little pin hole, but that's about it). I don't think you'd have a problem with that, but figured I'd mention it. She's treated like any other horse - normal turnout in a normal pasture, she's trailered all over the place, goes on trail rides, etc. No one coddles or babies her and no one really makes any concessions for her blindness except talking to her before touching her and giving her a few directional commands every now and again so she doesn't run into something. She wouldn't really need anything special done for her at the clinic, but my friend has run into a lot of people that freak out and wonder why the heck she got a "useless" blind horse.

In any event, if you'll put up with the odd menagerie that'd likely show up (several of the horses are rejects from something or another - all are sane, kind animals, but you know how superficial the horse world can be...) we'd love to have ya!

Re: Summer Clinic?

Hi...sorry that it has taken me so long to respond. My schedule has had me working such long hours and days that I actually had to ask my wife what day it was today.

I would love to schedule a clinic! Email me and we will chat about all the situations you discussed.

I try to make hosting and organizing a clinic as easy as I can for everyone involved.

Let's chat about the clinic. I look forward to it.

Michael
