Less Is More Horsemanship Forum
Welcome to the Less Is More Forum. This forum is to post questions, comments, suggestions, ideas, principles, concepts and ideas regarding Natural Horsemanship and more importantly, the philosophy of "Less IS More". This is a place where like-minded people can come to throw away all the old traditional ways of training, and riding, and begin to experience a new FREEDOM in their relationship with their equine partners. Whether your goal is to learn more about natural horsemanship, get support for your own personal Less Is More belief, find solutions for problems that are hindering your relationship, begin a journey of discovery or healing, this is your home. Regardless of what the current "fads" are in traditional circles or natural horsemanship circles, I encourage you to think 'outside the box'. Feel free to post a message.

GREAT IDEA !!!!

Hi gang...

I have a great idea...

Lately I have been receiving emails at home, and postings on this site, asking for advice. I used to be abble to take the time to answer everyone's email, but lately, the number of emails has increased dramatically. Also, my job has been demanding more of my mental and emotional efforts and of course I now have "Hondo" my mustang at home.

so this is what I am going to try to do for you...

I will videotape short segments and place them online for you to view. They will be short videos less than 5 minutes in length. I will keep it as simple as I can and easy to follow.

AND....

just to show you how you can make this work at home with your own partner...

I am going to use "HONDO" my mustang!!!

You will see HONDO go through everything for the first time. So if you ask about lateral flexion, then I will create a video short of HONDO and I learning together how to perform lateral flexion.

Get the idea?!

If HONDO, a wild 4 year old BLM mustang, and I, can get through it together, then I am confident that you will be able to accomplish it with your own partner at home.

Please post some ideas here that you would like to see on video. Remember, it needs to be something that you beleive can be shown in a short video.

Let's have fun with this. Not only will it help all of you, but it helps HONDO and I as we learn together.

Always Yours In Horsemanship...

Michael and HONDO

Re: GREAT IDEA !!!!

Michael, what a great idea.

I would maybe start with your ground work, leading,
Lateral flexion, lowering the head, hindquarter disengagment, teaching the horse to back.

There is all kinds of things that would help every one and give them something to work for.

Just my thoughts

Re: GREAT IDEA !!!!

Backing up....we will do a backing up video form the ground tomorrow evening (Tuesday 7/3/07) if weather holds out.

Hondo and I will demonstrate 4 ways to back with your horse from the ground.

Some problems we are experiencing is if some of the videos are too long, YouTube is having problems uploadng them. So I may have to segment some of the lessons so they can be uploaded.

So....hang in there gang....hopefully late tomorrow evening we will have a new video for you online.
