In the meantime, the grandson of Iremia, Ioteba Karebanga became the Rabi Island Chief Magistrate and he collected all the royalties for Puakonakai, claiming he was a Royal Family member and that there was no survivors of the Tinterunga family. This he was able to do because Kosrae would not let Mesasarik leave Kosrae. In 1967, John Harris, a chief in Nauru, his cousin, managed to get permission for Mesasarik to go to Nauru with him. On this trip a meeting was held with him, John, Hammer DeRoburt (married to John’s daughter at that time) and two Rabi (Banapa) council members at Hammer’s house on Nauru. During this meeting, the Banapans told Mesasrik to move to Rabi where his share of $3 million Australia Dollars is waiting for him, to bring his family to Rabi Island along with the Royal Crown symbol, the 50# Stone Turtle. The King’s sign which Mesasarik now had since the death of his father, Te’Moi in 1944 on Kosrae during the accupation of Japanese forces.
Mesrasarik went back to Kosrae to get his family in 1967. They got on the boat to go to Nauru where they would then ride a plane to Fiji. The Chief Magistrate of Kosrae knew that Mesasarik was going to go get a lot of money in Fiji and would probably come back to Kosrae to buy up all the land, so in his jealous rage, he had them removed by the Kosrae Police from the boat. They never got to Fiji. This, of course, well please Iotoba Karebanga, the adopted family, Rabi Chief Magistrate. He could go on collecting the royalties for Puakonakai, letting a Rotan Family claim part of Puakonakai as their land and who ever else he wished to give money to, acting like the King of his people. He never, with the millions he collected, ever made any attempt to go to Kosrae or Nauru to give a share to the real Te’Moi Family. Thus he literally embezzled all the money by fraud as an adopted family claimant. Mesasarik being drunk one night in 1969, was taken to the hospital where the doctor stuck tubes up his nose, kept him heavily sedated and literally starved him to death. Before he died, he name the day and hour he would die. He called his wife Kenye and daughter Tonna to his bedside and told them Tonna is to be the Te’Moi Wahine of Puakonakai-Banapa. To Take his family notes and the 50# Turtle and go to Rabi Island Fiji and claim the Royal Crown, taking the money from Ioteba and the Rotans as it is rightfully Royal Family money. She was told to put her name on the Puakonakai Island, now called Banapa or Ocean Island. He died exactly on the hour and day he predicted. NeKenye and Tonna left Kosrae for Ebeye in the Marshalls, where they hoped to get their working sister Tiana to pay their way to Fiji. Tiana had no money, they never went to Fiji. Ioteba died in 1985 and we found out in 1992 on a trip to Fiji, the money he collected is somewhere with someone on Rabi Island. No one will communicate with us from Rabi Island and the rightful land owners of over 200 years have NOTHING, right up to the present day.
