My office has recently moved to a new building on the 19th floor. Elevators have never bothered me before and I am not afraid of heights. Lately, however, I find myself becoming very anxious with constant stops at so many floors and just want to get to the bottom as quickly as possible. Also, the older I get the more I dislike crowded areas...malls, public transit. As soon as I get out into the open air or in my own home, I feel fine. Strangely, restaurants do not bother me. Wondering why I feel so anxious is elevators and public transit but nowhere else. Is this a form of claustrophobia? |
