I talked to Tamara of the Roanoke Times. She's working to get an article out by our grand opening on Friday, June 22. So we plan on getting together at noon on Monday, June 11th. She'll put in a request for a photographer, so hopefully he can come at the same time. Please dress in black for an artsy look and to show off our artwork behind us. I will keep you posted if there's any changes.
Karen was kind enough to send me contact info for the Montgomery Museum, so I've sent them an email to request setting up an exhibit. I'll let you know how that progresses.
I've been doing quite well selling at Tuggle's Gap Restaurant (sold 4 reproductions and one original.) To keep things fresh and exciting, I'm taking down and Gretchen will be setting up. Please let me know if you'd like to sell there and we can see when Gretchen is done, we can pass it along to another one of our members.
Tuggle's Gap has the advantage that they don't take a commission, however, the disadvantage is that they don't want to handle any money. When someone is interested in buying a painting, they may call you from Tuggle's Gap and ask you to run over there to exchange money with the customer. So you need to have the flexibility to do that if you want to exhibit in this venue.
Thank you to everyone who set up at Oddfellas Cantina! We will be on display there for about a month, so tell your friends.
