WWW.HIGHLANDMOTOX.COM LOCAL HEROES DO WELL @ HIGHLAND MOTOX ROUND 3. The Upgraded Whiteness Circuit was in prime condition and saw a full days top notch racing throughout all groups , from the Autos through to the Adult A's. The fully graded circuits came complete with various changes which kept the riders on their toes and the large spectator turnout on the edges of their seats as the fast n furious racing progressed. In the Adult A class it was Ricky Mair from Beauly on his Moto-One KTM that showed everyone a clean pair o heels with 2 dominant race wins, Pete Mitchell got runner up spot in race 1 with Scott Findlay runner up in race 2, unfortunately race 3 had 2 b cancelled due to Pete Mitchell taking a helicopter trip, good news is just a bit of concussion and bruising, will be fighting fit again soon. The Adult B class saw CORP alias Robert Thomson from Auldearn take 3 race wins, he had his work cut out for him as he had to work his way through the field with 3 separate riders chasing him hard for 2nd spot in all 3 races. The Veterans ran alongside the B group with Ross Kelman of Grantown on Spey in a class of his own. The C group saw young pretender John Kirk take 2nd to Mike Scott in race 1 followed by 2 race wins giving him top spot for the day ahead of Mike who had to settle for 2 2nd spots behind the youngster. This young man along with his brother Richard are gonna be worth watching as their pace is improving at each event. The Auto class was well supported on their super wee track complete with jumps , berms, concrete start area and full set of startgates. Winner for the day was young Aidan Campbell from Nairn with 2 race wins and a 2nd spot in race 3. Aaron Macdonald from Kelty in Fife made the trip worth while with a win in race 3 , enough to give him 2nd overall ahead of Invernessian Finlay Retson. In the 65's it was KTM mounted Kieran Hunter of Fochabers who sped to the front , taking 3 convincing race wins ahead of Ash Darling from Inverbervie, Kieran stays ahead of Ash. The 85 small wheeled class saw some very competitive racing from these superstars of the future with Ian Stewart of Forfar taking his 4 stroke Honda to three race wins ahead of Invernessian Ian Findlay who chased him home each time, who in turn was trailed by Jack taylor fae Arbroath. Iain McKenzie was the holeshot kid on his 2stroke Honda in the 85 big wheeled races, but had to settle for 2nd spot as Cameron Pendreich used his Honda 4strokes torque to pull through to the front in each race, this left Stuart Robertson to take 3rd overall. The Premier schoolperson class saw some of the closest most intense racing of the day between Steven Rennie, Allan Shields and Kevin Macdonald with them constantly battling for places and having the occasional tumble along the way. Steven came out on top with Fraser Calder taking 2nd overall with 3 steady rides, while local Kevin had to settle for 3rd on the day.
