  1. Are there any serious books on Vodoun?

The majority of books written on West African Vodoun, were written in the language of the former colonial forces in Benin, & Togo, which were the Portuguese, French & Deutsch (German).

However, some have been translated into English, and some books on the tradition have been written by American authors that merit consideration. For a listing of these books and others, Please click here Click here for books on the magicbotanical practice of Hoodoo.

  2. Can someone who is not a voodoo worshipper, go to a voodoo shrine for help? or must i be initiated first to seek help there?
Absolutely. Initiation is not required. Vodoun priests perform all of the same general services as any other priesthood. However, it is important to contact a priest to discuss what your needs are and make certain they offer a particular service you are seeking.
